Beginning September 1st, 2019 we will be requiring our guests to be vaccinated for the canine influenza.
This is in addition to the Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper combo vaccines that we have required in the past. We highly encourage you to talk to your vet about this new illness. With Fall weather right around the corner our guests will spend more time inside at night and the warm cozy environment creates the opportunity to share “germs”. If you are thinking of a kennel stay this Fall you will need to plan ahead as this vaccine is a two part series with a two to four week time between the shots. Then there is a seven to ten day wait for full protection. Like the Bordetella vaccine, the flu vaccine doesn’t prevent all cases of disease but does set up in the dog’s system a response to exsposure that lessens the severity of the illness. We strive to create a happy and healthy environment for all our guests and look forward to providing your dogs with the best loving care possible.
